3 Wellness Habits That Are Worth Your Time

As the new year sets in and we all continue to plan our 2024 goals, intentions, and resolutions, we wanted to take some time to fill you in on the 3 wellness habits that are actually worth your time.

In the world of wellness, many hacks and habits can do more harm than good, and sometimes do nothing at all. While we support you in picking what’s best for your wellness routine, our job is always to help you sift through the endless recommendations and prioritize what works.

Dry brushing

Dry brushing has some serious science behind it and is based in traditional Ayurvedic practices. It’s a proven way to not only treat the skin, but also the body!

Dry brushing is fantastic for lymphatic drainage, moving the vital fluid through the body and supporting healthy immune function and waste removal. The practice also effectively exfoliates the skin, helping reduce conditions like Keratosis Polaris and chronic dryness.

How to do it:

  • Before a shower, begin brushing the skin from the outer extremities towards the heart, in sweeping motions

  • Make sure to use light pressure, too much pressure can irritate & damage the skin and will be less effective for lymphatic movement

  • Shower as normal and apply our hydrating Body Oil to replenish & soften the skin

cryotherapy

Whether it’s a cold shower or a cold plunge, cryotherapy is an amazing way to regulate the nervous system and ground. Not only is this supportive to a heightened nervous system, it also is pain relieving and reduces systemic inflammation! While many people don’t have access to a dedicated cold plunge tub, a cold shower is also incredibly effective in returning the body to balance.

Cycle Tracking

We’ve done a deep dive on BBT cycle tracking, and the popularity of this method continues in 2024! While going birth control free isn’t appropriate, desirable, or effective for everyone (there’s no shame in taking control of your healthcare decisions), cycle tracking is a powerful wellness habit for those interested. By tracking your cycle without hormone intervention, you’re able to learn a wealth of information about your body, how it operates, and what it may need. Harnessing your natural cycle allows you to tap into your flow of creativity, emotional expression, sexuality, and overall energy fluctuations.
